About the Film
What if, instead of building higher walls, we built longer tables?
The Welcome Table explores the growing global crisis of climate displacement through the stories of people forced to leave their homes because of a changing climate. Traveling from communities across the United States to the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, and beyond, Fox documents the human experiences behind displacement and asks an urgent question: How do we welcome those seeking safety and a place to call home?
Blending personal stories, music, and powerful moments of human connection, the film challenges us to reconsider how we respond to people in crisis. At its heart is a simple but profound message: when we have more than we need, we should build a longer table, not a higher wall.
The film invites us to imagine a more compassionate future rooted in understanding, mutual aid, and community. It is a timely reminder that even in the face of enormous challenges, we have the power to come together and care for one another.
