The MacGyver Secret FOR VETERANS- May 4th & 5th

A free, two-day course for any interested veterans in the area.

9am-3pm Both Saturday & Sunday

REGISTRATION REQUIRED

1) It’s a two-day program: three 1-hour sessions each day with breaks in between (total 6 hours)

2) Limit is 25 participants: first come, first served

3) All the participants personal questions and answers are private, so no “sharing” is needed

4) Notebooks and pens will be provided

Taught By: Lee Zlotoff, Creator of the MacGyver TV series, and author of the book The MacGyver Secret.

What is The MacGyver Secret?

For starters, it is not therapy of any kind. Instead, it is a simple tool allowing vets to tap into the remarkable resources of their Inner MacGyver to come up with a useful solution to any problem or issue whether it’s creative, technical, or personal. Such as...

Why do I have trouble falling or staying asleep at night?
Why am I often so short-tempered or quick to anger?
Why do I get ‘stuck’ and have trouble completing projects?

Learn how to tap into your inner MacGyver with a three-step process using just a pen and paper. No belief system or mumbo jumbo required. Access your hidden capabilities with ease. Lee, inspired by his family's experience with PTSD, offers this tool to help veterans. At the end of the workshop get a free 10-page guide to start practicing at your own pace.

Or call to register 845-252-3100

Quantum Entanglement-an experimental art installation

By Artist Claudine Luchsinger

A local Narrowsburg artist, Claudine Luchsinger received an MFA from The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and a BFA from Marywood University, with an emphasis on drawing and painting.

She has collaborated with PC Denizen to project her figurative Women of Woodstock paintings onto a stone sculpture, exhibited at Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center.

Claudine's creative work includes six years of innovative programing at the Western Sullivan Public Library as the Adult Program Coordinator. Prior to that, she assisted local prominent artists with archiving their life's work.

Claudine's diverse abilities also includes curating. She worked on a retrospective show, a memorial show and Black Mountain College Museum’s current exhibition for The Estate of Vera B. Williams.

In 2023, she was awarded two artist residencies: The Vermont Studio Center, Johnson, VT and The Horned Dorset Colony, Leondardsville, NY. These two residencies led to the creation of Quantum Entanglement.

Currently, Claudine works and manages Blue Hills Farm, a unique Airbnb glamping experience

Opening Reception: EDDIE ADAMS: WORKSHOP & LEGACY

Join us for the opening reception of EDDIE ADAMS: WORKSHOP & LEGACY, a captivating exhibition premiering at the Union Digital Gallery.

The only Associated Press photographer to hold the title of Special Correspondent, Eddie Adams (1933-2004) photographed 13 wars, seven US presidents, 65 heads of state and countless celebrities. In his more than five decades as a photographer, Adams received more than 500 awards honoring his work, including the 1968 Pulitzer Prize and World Press Photo of the Year for his iconic image “Saigon Execution.” His photographs influenced public opinion and changed policy. His series on Vietnamese boat people, “Boat of No Smiles,” helped persuade the United States to admit 200,000 refugees at the end of the war. Adams’ career also spanned advertising, corporate, entertainment, fashion and feature photography. His work appeared in Time, Vogue, Vanity Fair and Parade, for whom he shot more than 350 covers in 25 years.

His legacy lives on in The Eddie Adams Workshop, the tuition-free seminar for young photographers he founded in 1988. The Eddie Adams workshop continues to be the only tuition-free forum of its kind, with 100 shooters handpicked from around the world based solely on the merit of their pictures. For more than 30 years, the workshop has helped shape the future of photojournalism. It has an unparalleled history of cultivating quality, exchanging ideas and building relationships. This Exhibit will feature photos of 30 alumni from the first 30 years.

The documentary movie titled; "An Unlikely Weapon: The Eddie Adams Story" will have a special screening in the Delaware Hall on Friday, September 8th at 5:30pm.

The Narrowsburg Union has created an innovative new gallery space called Union Digital Gallery. We have installed the latest technology, including a 16-foot media wall. Reflections and refractions made by iPads, micro-projectors, and HD-monitors give the gallery space a cool-glow giving a magical immersive experience of sound and image.

ABOUT

Volunteer firefighters are among the most important people

in our communities, yet they are often overlooked.

 Cinematographer and photographer Chris Ramirez

serves alongside Upstate New York’s first responders,

and his new film and photography project - Sullivan Fire - shines a light

on their invaluable service.

Ramirez, a volunteer interior firefighter with the Rock Hill Fire Department,

is on hiatus from active duty as devotes his efforts to telling their stories.

Sullivan Fire was inspired by Ramirez’ work with the Join Sullivan Fire Initiative, a county-wide recruitment and retention task force organized by the Sullivan County Bureau of Fire.
